This morning I managed to get my little meal deal from Marks and Spencer’s and manage the overground timetable to arrive early for my first day on my internship!
Getting ready for the day went smoother than I had feared, the heavy rain meant that I could wear my black leather jacket and new American apparel riding pants without looking too wintery in the middle of summer. I needed to look smart, but as there was no dress code, i didn’t want to look overkill, so opted for a peach sleeveless blouse I found in the asos sale for a casual office look.
The day was quiet, filled with photoshopping and editing newsletter layouts, but everyone was very friendly and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my summer working there.
My good luck charms: My Thomas Sabo charm bracelet from my best friend Laura which she gave me on my 18th and my Pandora.
Riding Pants: American Apparel via ASOS
I waited quite a while lusting after these riding pants – they retail at £64 a pair. I was waiting and hoping for some kind of giant discount to justify buying a pair, so when 20% off student discount on ASOS became available I was straight in there. My Mum once said to me: “If you like something enough, it’s worth anything” and I am so glad I invested. These are my go to treat-because-I-got-myself-an-internship trousers. They’re really thick and made of elastic material as I have a thing against wearing leggings as trousers and these are the perfect inbetween! The top double popper at your waist makes them a proper pair of trousers and because they’re body con they’re the comfiest things EVER to wear – you can do anything without worrying about your modesty. The only downside is they are slightly short, but this is the style and I love them to pieces – definitely worth the investment!
