Last weekend, with a trip to Kew Gardens on the cards, I thought I’d go for the theme and don this little floral number I picked up from Monki during the Carnaby Street Shopping Event last week (I’ve also got the matching shorts so watch out for a little co-ord ootd coming soon!).
Stepping off the tube at Kew Gardens station, Simon and I immediately fell in love with the village market and cute little streets winding towards the gardens with lots of independent boutique stores lining the edges. It felt like being at home in Yorkshire, with wide open fields and village shops and local pubs, with people sitting and drinking outside in the sunshine.
We met with my Mum and John to explore the famous Kew Gardens, which was great fun – and such beautiful weather! We wandered around the grounds (though not all of it – it stretches for miles!) and looked round the famous green houses which house all sorts of things, and in some you can climb the stairs and wander round the edge from above, looking down into the masses of green below. For someone who only went because my Mum is a keen gardener – I loved it!
On a slightly different note, I’ve fallen in love with bright, bold lipsticks and am collecting them at what some might call “an alarming rate”. I personally blame my sister, who has a love for all make up bright and beautiful and who is my go to make up guru! But this lipstick was one of my first bright lipsticks, and is still a firm favourite of mine – MAC’s Candy Yum Yum.
Definitely a place to explore on a sunny day, and a beautiful setting for a picnic!
