Welcoming 2016!

Welcome to my last post of 2015, as the sun sets on this year – see that? linking in the image down here – I thought I’d take a look over my year, and what you can expect from me in 2016.
But first things first: Happy Holidays! I always feel very American saying that, but after a week away from blogging, the least I could do was start with some well-wishing! I had a lovely family Christmas, and can’t believe I’m now saying “see you in 2016!” to my friends as they go away on holidays and there’s only two days left until we leave 2015.
Yet another year has gone, and if you’ve been through it with me on here, thank you for sticking around! And thank you to everyone who has discovered my little corner of the internet and taken the time to read. In my “Entering 2015″ post, I said I was ready to get back on the blogging wagon after a little break due to a hectic start in full time work. Well, although this took a little time, back in the Summer, I decided to schedule me in some more blogging time. Previously, my posts had been quite randomly published, but as you may now – you can now find something new on here once a week on a Wednesday, and sometimes twice a week when I’ve got a lot to share! This is something I plan to keep up with, and see how my posts develop. I love reading other people’s posts and finding inspiration and advice, and I hope this is what I pass on to you, my readers.
Speaking of inspiration, I’ve recently read a lot about a certain “Anti-bucket list” from Glamour Magazine and other bloggers, and wanted to share my favourite things from 2015, so I can tick those off before I move on to what I want to achieve next year.
2015. Taking advantage of living in London
I promised myself I would continue to live like a tourist in London, and keep exploring everything while I’m so close, and take advantage of everything I possibly could. I wrote a little post about the most touristy things I’ve done recently, but there are so many more – like watching Gemma Bovery outside Somerset House, visiting exhibitions, ice skating outside the National History Museum and taking the time on weekends to explore London’s little back streets and just getting a little lost.
2016. Keep exploring
While I’ve done a lot of touristy things this year, there are still so many places, museums, and of course food-related-locations to explore (especially the best hot chocolate hunt…), so I’ll be keeping you updated on all my findings here and on Instagram.
2015. A little travel
I took the leap this year with Simon and booked a 10 day trip to my favourite place in the world, New York City, all by ourselves! It was one of my favourite trips so far, though I needed a holiday afterwards to get over the amount of walking we did. I took a trip to Disneyland Paris which let me relive my childhood, meeting Pluto and dressing up without fear of looking out of place. I was also lucky enough to be chosen to go to Belfast for 6 weeks of work, which meant exploring somewhere new and a lot of early mornings back in March – but I can’t complain, and would love to be go elsewhere.
2016. A little more travel
There are quite a few places I wanted to visit this year but didn’t make the time. For 2016, I have a few places lined up I’d like to go (none of which are booked of course), but I’d like to explore a little more of the south – places like Brighton and Cambridge I am yet to visit – as well as a little further afield. Iceland here we come!
2015. Saying yes (and no)
As my blog has been building, I’ve been getting a few more emails from brands and entering blogging competitions, so this number on my list is for saying yes to those events which take me a little out of my comfort zone, but also making sure that the companies I post for and posts I create fit perfectly into my blog and don’t look out of place, while saying no to those that wouldn’t work on carryoncaroline.
2016. Keep my content personal

This one is really just recognising that I’ll keep writing and creating content that fits on carryoncaroline, for brands I like and use.

2015. Exploring content
As well as my fashion posts this year, I’ve experimented with a lot of different content. I even started reading again and wrote a long post about my favourites way back in July, but need to get back into my books once again now that I’ve cut out my 40 minute tube commute!I’ve also been exploring skin care and beauty a lot more, focusing on taking care of my skin and enjoying finding new brands and products through recommendations and other bloggers.

2016. Continue experimenting

I’ll be continuing to post things I find, clothes I wear and the things I do with a few random bits and pieces thrown in, and I love hearing which you like, so let me know and I’ll work hard to keep them coming! I’m also working on my photography skills and making this a pretty polished little blog, so if you have any great tips or advice, keep me posted please!

And if you’ve made it all the way down here, thank you! It’s been a good year, and it’s nice to have the time to reflect on what I have done and have yet to do. I hope you have time to do the same! Have  yourself a fabulous new year, and I’ll see you in 2016!
Caroline
