Pottering round Pollença | OOTD

Well what better time for a post all about sunshine, blue skies and summer dresses than a week like this one? You might’ve spotted on my Instagram, but last month my family, Simon and I hopped on a plane to visit one of my favourite places – Majorca.

Majorca is a place I’ve visited quite a few times now, and I’ve managed to inherit my Mum’s love for the peaceful beaches, pretty pinwalk and winding little town streets. We always stay in or around Pollença, often nearer Port de Pollença, meaning we know our way around pretty well by now and making it the ultimate relaxing holiday.

Every town in Majorca has a market day, and Pollença is no exception. On Sunday morning we introduced our family friends to the beautiful town and the market that starts in the lower square and winds it’s way up through the narrow streets towards the 365 Calvari steps. On offer is everything from jewellery and clothing to olives and cacti. As well as a few hidden shops along the way, where I picked up some Menorcan abarcas, my official sandal of the summer! But more on those soon…

On holiday, my hair is never down – I always regret not having it cut beforehand! – but swirled up in a bun or firmly in a french plait is the only way for me to handle the heat (and, ahem, make sure my parting doesn’t burn…).

Having not been on a beach holiday in a couple of years, I desperately needed to restock my beach wardrobe, and this little Urban Outfitters dress fit the bill perfectly. It’s just got that throw on simplicity, but the back detailing and pattern makes it perfect for days wandering round markets or dinner along the seafront. And these shoes! Once I scrolled past them I knew they were the ones for me. I am definitely a girl for a bright accessory and these are no exception. I’d been on the hunt for a couple of weeks after several sites had sold out in my size, but luckily, my one and only, ASOS came through for me at the last minute and they arrived just in time to hop on the plane with me!

But as I spent the rest of the week by the pool in my bikini, this is my only Majorcan post! I’ve already been recommending Majorca as the perfect island getaway for sunshine, blue skies and beautiful scenery and I can’t wait to go back, a week’s holiday just wasn’t long enough for me!
