I’ve taken a little time to evaluate my current summer wardrobe, and found myself a giant wishlist.
This year, I’m trying to be a little more ethical in my buying. That, and London is slowly draining me…so I’ve narrowed my shopping list down to a few key pieces. Hopefully these will fit the bill for a Summer in the city, a city break weekend & a September beach getaway.
All in one swimsuits are all over the shop this summer, and I’m all for it! I’ve been a bikini fan – to tan as much of my body as humanly possible, without being indecent – in the past, I’m now searching for a more classic look.
I already own two black all in ones, but I’m on the hunt for something a little more exciting. I often find swimsuits come up a little short in the body for me, and colour leaves you a little more exposed than black. Here’s hoping one of these will be the one!
I’ve been searching a while perfectly fitted coloured trouser suit. I love the sass they show on the likes of Alexa Chung, Megan Ellaby and Chloe Plumstead – it’s the perfect ready made outfit!
While I haven’t found anything that fits the bill quite yet, I’ve been eyeing up a few colourful trousers. Topshop comes up top trumps for me here. With the widest range of bright tailored trousers in a variety of styles, there’s something for everyone. After experimenting with a few different fits, I’ve found the ‘mensy’ high waisted range work for me!

Nothing beats a cool summer dress when the sunshine hits and temperatures rise above 25. Though I’ve always been one for a shorter skirt, this Summer I’m delving into the midi length love head first. Maybe I’m getting old, but I love the easiness, carefree (no bum cheeks here) and classiness of the midi dress: tailored to fit the top half and providing a little swish in the bottom half. Meet my favourites…
A city break is exactly what I’m hoping for come August. We’re looking at a 4 day break in Rome, where I’ve never been and can’t wait to go! It’s become apparent the playsuit is an amazing go to for a day exploring a new city. Here’s my pick of the best. I’ve done a mix and match of sleeveless and with sleeves – my shoulders are always first to burn…

When I set off for the day – whether in London or sightseeing abroad – I need to know my shoes are going to protect my feet – not attack them. Last year’s two strap Birkenstocks have previously ripped my feet to shreds and show no signs of improving. So I’ve started taking my summer shoe shopping quite seriously: the need to be comfortable all round, a thick enough sole to not feel the pavement, and well lasting.
I love abarcas, as you’ll know if you’ve been reading my blog for a while. I’m so happy to see them filter into brands here in the UK, like these golden Warehouse beauties. I can’t recommend the easy Summer shoe enough!
